At the Wisconsin School of Business, our vision is to be a broad-based business school, and we are actively moving forward to develop and execute a strategy that considers the changing landscape of business education. At the same time, this strategy builds on our legacy of academic excellence, thought leadership, and cutting-edge research, aimed at preparing future generations of our Business Badgers to lead, innovate, and have a positive impact in the world.

Our emerging strategy includes initiatives that are aligned with a number of the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s strategic priorities for 2015-2019: enhancing the educational experience; improving student access and opportunities; maintaining and growing faculty excellence; and, expanding and improving research.

The alignment of campus priorities with our strategic initiatives below reflects the strong tradition of shared governance at UW–Madison and the School.

Wisconsin School of Business Strategic Initiatives

To enhance and build on our existing portfolio of programs

BBA growth: Enrollment has more than doubled in the last decade, and there is potential for additional growth to bring more talent to the Business Badger community.

A competitive MBA program: Offering an MBA degree continues to be important, with deliveries that expand access and versatility to our full-time, evening, and executive programs.

New and expanded MS programs: Master of Science (MS) programs can provide BBA students a chance to continue their education and attract new students for
in-demand degrees.

Summer Term

Summer enrollment: Creating more opportunities for summer study increases access to business education while enabling flexibility for students to pursue study abroad or internships during the academic year.

Hybrid and online degrees: These delivery options will position WSB to provide top students flexible pathways to a business education and create opportunities for students across the globe.
