The results are in from Bloomberg Businessweek’s annual survey of business school alumni, and Wisconsin’s network is noted for its career-boosting power.

Alumni from 126 schools were asked to rate their alma mater on five statements, with business schools ranked based on participants’ answers.

The Wisconsin School of Business ranked #19 for “My school’s alumni network has helped me build my career,” with a score of 85.82 out of 100.

This put Wisconsin fifth among U.S. public universities and ahead of Yale, Carnegie Mellon, University of Chicago, NYU, University of North Carolina, Emory, and other top schools.

The Wisconsin School of Business’ alumni network—which is more than 40,000 strong and growing each year—is known for its active involvement in recruitment, mentorship, and career guidance. New students regularly mention WSB’s alumni as a key deciding factor in choosing the Wisconsin Full-Time MBA Program.

“Wisconsin offers incredible alumni support,” says recent graduate Aggie Howland (MBA ’19). “I reached out to several Wisconsin alumni when I was considering what industry I wanted to work in—and connected with each person. All were very willing to help me navigate the program to be sure I was getting the most from my MBA experience.”

While a Wisconsin MBA student, Howland had an “alumni buddy” who made her a priority and provided essential advice, from class choices and interview strategies to how to succeed in an internship.

“The advice certainly helped,” says Howland. “I got the internship I wanted at Intuit and was hired there as an in-house marketing manager after graduation.”

The Wisconsin Full-Time MBA Program has 10 career specializations, many with their own alumni and advisory boards who provide expert leadership on growing a career in specific roles and industries.

The Wisconsin School of Business also boasts a proud Wisconsin Business Alumni board that is active on campus and around the globe.
