Biography

Tracy Nelson, SPHR, CPTD serves as adjunct faculty in the MBA and undergraduate degree programs at the Wisconsin School of Business, and as an instructor and consultant for the Center for Professional and Executive Development. Tracy is a senior-level human resources, organizational development, and learning and talent development leader with more than 35 years of business experience serving in a variety of industries spanning healthcare, financial services, insurance, hospitality, manufacturing, and non-profit. She served over 10 years on the Board of Directors for the South-Central Wisconsin Chapter of the Association for Talent Development including a year as President and is President on the Executive Board of Directors for Greater Madison SHRM, Society of Human Resources Management.

Tracy is a national conference speaker and leadership development trainer and works with clients across the world helping them optimize their organizational talent strategies and practices. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and a Master of Science in Organizational Development. She is a Prosci certified change management professional and is certified in strategic workforce planning through Human Capital Institute. She also serves as a Learning Elite Award judge for Chief Learning Officer magazine. Topic areas of expertise include human resources, talent management, adult learning, instructional design, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, change management, culture, performance management, coaching, retention, and employee experience.
