Lei Song is excited to join the Erdman Center for Operations and Technology Management at Wisconsin School of Business after a ten-year immersion in electronic product testing, product management, and Lean Six Sigma project management. He is looking forward to sharing his passion in enhancing business efficiency and sustainability, and working together with all stakeholders to help businesses better serve people and the community.
Lei graduated from the University of Chinese Academic of Science in 2008 with a Master of Engineering in Electronics and Communication. After graduation, he joined leading electronic manufacturing companies like ELCOTEQ and ENICS and dedicated himself in the field of electronic product testing, product management, and operations excellence. He demonstrated hand-on technical competences, accumulated know-hows about product creation, process design, industrialization, and operational excellence. As the lead engineer, he managed the project of global product test platform, successfully delivered several multi-million-dollar projects to the business, and helped the company improve the operational effectiveness by 15%. Lei also had a two-year startup experience. As the product management director, he hired and developed a three-person team managing the full product lifecycle and gained many valuable experiences in product management.
Outside of professional life, Lei is a continuous learner and is also willing to help others to learn. When he studied the online course on Coursera, because of his top-tier academic performance and supportive behavior, he was selected to be the Mentor for Introduction to a Financial Accounting course. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and he is a big fan of long-distance cycling.
