MBA 2021 | Applied Security Analysis


Matt Krebsbach is a 2021 MBA candidate in the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Applied Security Analysis Program. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Minor in Accounting.

After graduating from UW-La Crosse, Matt started his career as a Credit Analyst at Middleton Community Bank. In this role, he utilized financial statements, tax returns and credit reports to conduct fundamental credit analysis on prospective borrowers.

In the summer of 2015, Matt joined Narwhal Capital Management, a Registered Investment Advisor with $750 million in assets under management. In his role as a Portfolio Analyst, he monitored portfolio characteristics and allocations for the firm’s separately managed accounts, built and updated Investment Policy Statements, and pitched several equity investment ideas including Las Vegas Sands and Orbital ATK. Matt was promoted soon after joining Narwhal Capital to an Investment Analyst/Assistant Portfolio Manager, and started managing several portfolios on a discretionary basis. As a member of the Investment Committee, he regularly discussed firmwide holdings and provided recommendations to other portfolio managers. Matt also helped to develop and implement a structured equity research process with a focus on management quality and competitive position.

Matt earned his CFA charter in May 2018. He is also a CAIA charterholder and a certified Financial Risk Manager. In his free time, Matt enjoys reading, running, tennis, golf and traveling.
