Christopher J. Durant is excited to join the Wisconsin School of Business MBA Class of 2021, where he will focus on Investment Banking at the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. Recently, Durant secured a Pre-MBA internship at 30Ventures, an early-stage healthcare and biotechnology venture capital firm. Before that, he was an Equity Research Analyst at Craig-Hallum Capital Group LLC, a boutique investment bank based in Minneapolis, where he covered 23 companies in the Computer Hardware, Semiconductor, and Telecommunications industries.
Prior to joining Craig-Hallum, Durant was an Investment Operations Analyst at Nuveen Investments, an asset management firm with $1 trillion in assets under management. He oversaw and reconciled the accounting for over 50 institutional investment accounts, including several multi-billion-dollar mutual funds, sovereign wealth funds, and separately managed accounts. Additionally, Durant gained valuable equity research experience at Nuveen by analyzing companies and building financial models for a member of the Nuveen Small Cap Equity Team.
Throughout his career, Durant has been actively involved in his community. He has been a leader at the CFA Society of Minnesota for over 5 years, and he has also served on the board of the StepUP Program at Augsburg University.
Durant graduated from Augsburg University with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics, and a Minor in Chemistry. Durant is looking forward to strengthening his financial acumen to prepare himself for the fast-paced deal environments as an investment banker. In his free time, Durant enjoys tennis, golf, endurance sports, and outdoor activities.
