Biography

Derek Christensen, CPA, obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy degrees from the University of Denver. Before entering the PhD program in Accounting Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he worked in advisory consulting for Deloitte (Denver). In this role his work focused on the intersection of technical accounting and internal controls. In a similar vein Derek's research interests are concerned with the relationship between accounting standards and firm decisions, as well as the ultimate capital market consequences of these decisions.
