A walk through part of Grainger Hall is now a walk through history, and what a history it is.
This summer, the Wisconsin School of Business unveiled “Legacy Hall,” an art installation on the walls of the corridor that connects the East and West Atriums on the first floor of Grainger Hall. The art wall takes students, faculty, staff, and visitors through more than 100 years of the Wisconsin School of Business’s leadership in education, innovation, and community-building. The photo-filled timeline begins with the day in 1900 when the School of Commerce was established and moves to today’s achievements, with special milestone moments in between.
“The wall is an opportunity to celebrate the legacy of our School and our community of leaders and learners,” says Meloney Linder, associate dean of communications, facilities, and technology. “We have a rich and inspiring history of progressive and collaborative innovations that everyone can now experience in the Legacy Hall space.”
Legacy Hall at Grainger Hall was a collaborative effort within the Wisconsin School of Business. Those involved with the project include WSB Integrated Marketing Communications and Facilities Services, as well as Michael Enyart, senior academic library director of the Business Library, and Cindy Bush, WSB brand project manager. Additional assistance came from UW Archives and Record Management and the Wisconsin Historical Society.
