Having worked abroad extensively, Julia returned to Madison to earn her Wisconsin Evening MBA and move her career forward. A specialist in nonprofits, microenterprises, and artisan cooperatives, Julia is building her leadership skills in order to be a more effective manager within the development and NGO world.

I entered the Wisconsin Evening MBA program to learn from experts and the Wisconsin School of Business has made this a reality. Not only have I learned from faculty and fellow students, but I’ve established relationships with global thought leaders. Recently, I had the opportunity to connect with three professors in India that are leading researchers in my specialized career area.

I now have a global network of industry contacts, a close cohort of passionate peers, and vital skills that will help me in my next career step. Having my MBA will help me be a more refined and resourceful leader within my field. On top of the amazing connections I’m making, the student-oriented career services staff has been exceptionally supportive in helping me pursue my passion.

The faculty at the Wisconsin School of Business are genuinely interested in understanding their students’ career goals. Financial Accounting was an incredible class. Professor Kris Allee has passion and enthusiasm for the subject matter and ignited my interest in an area of study in which I had little experience. Now accounting is a skill that I can bring to the workplace with confidence.

Learning within the cohort format helped me grow as a professional. Learning alongside peers from other industries truly opened my eyes to the types of people, professionals, and opportunities out there. We all challenged each other and gained insights about each other’s areas of expertise.
