I wanted to challenge the comfort zone of my job. I was fairly confident in my analytic skills and industrial engineering, lean and six sigma capability. I wanted to learn the people and financial aspects of my company. Thus, I began exploring MBA options in the area.

One of my goals behind pursuing an MBA was to improve my social and networking skills. The in-person, team-oriented format of the Wisconsin Evening MBA is helpful in building these skills and forming meaningful relationships with other professionals.

I wanted to expand my abilities beyond engineering, analytics, manufacturing, and continuous improvement. Thus, the time was ripe for me to challenge myself in a positive manner.

An evening MBA made sense for me because I did not want to lose out on ongoing work experience and a job that I enjoy. I also did not want to part with a regular paycheck. I believed applying what I study in school at work would be the best way to get the most out of an MBA.

I can understand and appreciate the quarterly financial statements of my company now. I can review my own personal investment portfolio. I was focused on operations for most of my work life. Now, I am looking into finance as well.

Working in teams in the program helps me improve my communication skills. I also got to examine the work environments of different companies. I learned about the work cultures of my peers and got the chance to learn about different types of roles.

You gain a wide breadth of specific skills in the Wisconsin Evening MBA Program. For me, I gained insights in managing people in things like personality analysis and performance management as well as a well-rounded understanding of financial statements and terms. I also gained an appreciation for business ethics.

This MBA experience has made me re-evaluate my career options. I can understand and appreciate the quarterly financial statements of my company now. I can review my own personal investment portfolio. I was focused on operations for most of my work life. Now, I am looking into finance as well.

The program office was very helpful for me before applying and during the program. They hosted great info sessions, provide access to sample the classes, provide access to networking events as a visitor, make tuition assistance possible, and are extremely responsive to any and all queries.
