As a designer with a BFA, the Wisconsin Evening MBA Program is helping me bridge the gap between creativity and business. I aspire to manage a creative team of artists and designers at Kohl's. Wisconsin’s program is giving me the skills to better communicate with the product and merchant leaders who come from business education backgrounds. I’m becoming a better leader and applying coursework to my job almost every day.
One of my favorite classes has been Managing Behaviors in Organizations—both because I want to be a manager and because I am managed. It was great to develop an understanding of the different approaches to leadership. I’m identifying personal strengths that I have as a leader as well as the management skills I still need to work on.

The program office admits students from all backgrounds and industries. Each of us brings our unique strengths and perspectives to the cohort. My classmates come from finance, healthcare, engineering and more. These differences help us create long-term meaningful relationships where we help each other succeed.
As someone in a creative field, I was unsure if an MBA would be right for me, but at Wisconsin, I’m truly able to thrive. I’m learning from world-renowned faculty, collaborating with other passionate students, and am able to add my perspective as a designer working in the retail industry.
The coach bus from Milwaukee to Madison is a great perk. For me, it’s an excellent opportunity to make fast friends with classmates. Spending time on a bus every week with the same people is an excellent way to connect, trade notes on our classes, and get to know one another. I also don’t have to worry about driving or parking.
The program is created for working professionals. It’s definitely manageable with everything going on at work and at home. My time working on my MBA coursework—both inside and outside of the classroom—feels meaningful and important because I can feel my career moving in the right direction.
