Heather entered the Wisconsin Evening MBA Program to open doors for future career opportunities. With an undergraduate degree in Art and Spanish, she knew she had the creative and communication skills to succeed, but wanted to complement her undergraduate education with a greater focus on strategy and analysis. Heather is seeing tangible results while continuing to work.

The lockstep cohort format fosters an environment that is driven and collaborative. Everyone is moving forward in their careers while supporting each other along the way. We have a “we’re in this together” spirit, which has proven to be a major value of the program.

My courses are giving me tools to advance my career. My Negotiations course was particularly enlightening and required that I pull together everything that I’ve learned about business while strengthening my communication skills. The expert faculty, along with students from diverse industries, helps me to think about issues from multiple perspectives.

My responsibilities have increased since starting the program, and I’ve taken on more high-profile, complex projects. I’m now on the division leadership team and help set the strategy and culture development. I’ve developed an entrepreneurial work style that focuses on using data and analytics in order to solve problems.

The Wisconsin Evening MBA Program has truly invested in me. Going back to school was a difficult transition for me at first. Not having a traditional business background meant every word in accounting was extremely foreign. With the one-on-one support of the program office, and my cohort, I adjusted quickly and was able to get back on track. Now I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else.

I sought consultation from the career management team to better understand how to achieve career satisfaction. Thanks to the career services staff, I’m able to identify what drives my passion and recognize different career paths I can take after completing the MBA program.

The highlight of the program was the international trip. It melded everything I had learned during the first two years of the program with a cohort bonding experience that I’ll never forget. With the Wisconsin Evening MBA, you gain an incredible amount of knowledge but also friendships and lifelong connections.
