As a student in the marketing analytics and insights specialization, you can count on a highly engaged external advisory board and our active alumni network to complement your classroom learning with real-world examples, inspiration, and an immediate network that will serve you for your entire career.

Representing 30 top marketing-driven firms, advisory board members for the A.C. Nielsen Center for Marketing Analytics and Insights come to campus twice a year for two main reasons: to discuss current industry trends to keep our curriculum current, and to connect and mentor our students. To make the industry connection more personalized, you will be assigned mentors from the board to assist in your career development through one-on-one meetings, mock interviews, speed networking events, and guidance on your student consulting project.

At the biennial Alumni and Friends Summit, you gain access to industry-leading firms and speakers discussing emerging issues and innovative techniques in marketing analytics and insights. Summit topics have covered new industry trends, storytelling and data visualization, and emerging technologies. From sessions on analyzing the neuroscience of choice, to implementing virtual reality in surveys, to the use of gamification to improve consumer engagement, the summit presents the cutting edge of marketing analytics and insights and provides an outstanding opportunity to network with industry experts and alumni.

“The External Advisory Board has been an incredible resource and continues to impress me. Not only are my assigned board mentors amazing to work with, every single board member is willing to help students. I’ve asked for internship advice, recruiting tips, and introductions to industry contacts and I’ve never been let down. I don’t think I fully understood the advantage of the board when I applied, but am now so thankful for them for all their help, advice, and expertise.”
