As a student in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Program, you may expand your skill set by earning a concentration in Operations and Technology Management (OTM). Completing the Wisconsin MBA OTM courses during the second and third years of the four-year pharmacy program allows you to stay on track for graduation and distinguish yourself in the job market.
The concentration can lead to career paths in community pharmacy, industry, and health systems management, with the potential to improve patient care. The curriculum is based on the recommendations of professionals working in health care systems, insurance companies, and related fields. The 12-credit requirements include a class in project management and three electives based on your interests. Choose from:

Prior to your first business course, you may participate in an online “boot camp” to learn key concepts in preparation for the concentration curriculum. Contact Dr. Ed Portillo at the School of Pharmacy at edward.portillo@wisc.edu for more information.
You may also participate in the yellow- and green-belt Six Sigma process improvement training provided through the Erdman Center. The workshops will prepare you to drive continuous improvement initiatives in your organization.
